Mirelith

Overview

This is a swamp continent that consist of an outer ring and and inner body of water. The outer ring more closely exhibits the classic characteristics of a “true” forest swamp with weeping willow type trees in shallow murky waters. There’s also a constant layer of fog amidst the trees and hovering above the mossy water that creates the illusion of a much denser forest. Here, insects and amphibians live generally as a self-reliant ecosystem, since it is quite uninhabitable for any humanoid creatures. However, the inner body of water, which is mysteriously deeper compared to the rest of the continent, is home to two water-type humanoid races namely, the Nixies and the Abyssal Thralls. The Abyssal Thrall inhabit the depths of this body of water and in fact “built” the central structure which is entirely made up of swamp flora (primarily giant lily pads) as they are the now subservient race. Their “masters” are exclusively the Nixies who reside in these flora-based structures from which they reside over their swamp dominion more or less. The presence of magic on this continent, specifically the central pond, is undeniable but it does not seem to be taken advantage of by any of the races native to the entire region.
